Presentation of the building

As a multinational company active in the field of hygiene products, P&G decided in 1999 to regroup its staff in the eight floors of the former SBS headquarters in Petit-Lancy. Geneva thus became the multinational's headquarters for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. After a first stage of office fitting out designed to deal with the most pressing needs, Procter & Gamble has defined an ambitious program for adapting the building in line with the very rapid planned development of the new structures in Geneva. This first phase of transformation was carried out between October 1999 and December 2000. Noting important changes in the way employees work, the company's management initiated a reflection on the reorganization of its Geneva premises, which led to a profound reform of the 4000 m2 of the first floor, aiming to create spaces that were both more user-friendly and better adapted to new professional habits. The complete renovation of the spaces was carried out in a busy environment throughout 2015. The work was carried out in stages in order to minimize the impact of the work on employees' activities.

Emergency lighting concept

The emergency lighting concept implemented during these transformations is based on the use of a set of more than 360 autonomous emergency and lighting fixtures as well as on the adaptation of a hundred or so of the main contractor's light points so that they can be backed up in the event of a power failure. All the luminaires installed during this renovation phase are LED technology luminaires. This choice allowed us to offer long life and low power consumption luminaires in line with current environmental concerns.
