Presentation of the building
Built in the early 1960s and inaugurated in 1968, the “Libellules” bent bar is a world in itself: 9 floors of housing, 8 entrances, 504 apartments and 1200 inhabitants With a large concentration of low-income and disadvantaged people, the building had become a sensitive neighborhood. To remedy this situation, the Emile Dupont Foundation carried out an ambitious renovation project between 2012 and 2016, which was not simply a technical rehabilitation, but a transformation that refocused the building around the human element.
The company Aprotec SA, which had already been maintaining the emergency lighting installations since 1996, was chosen to supply new equipment to modernize and optimize the existing installations.
Emergency lighting concept
The emergency lighting concept for this building is based on the use of a set of more than 230 stand-alone luminaires that have been integrated into the original electrical network. All the luminaires that were installed during this renovation phase are LED technology luminaires.
This choice allowed us to offer long life and low power consumption luminaires in line with current environmental concerns.
