Emergency lighting standards
Introduction
For the construction or operation of an installation comprising emergency lighting, in practice reference will be made to the VKF / AEAI (Fire Insurance) standards and directives, to the European standard for emergency lighting (EN1838) as well as local guidelines and recommendations. Emergency lighting categories are emergency lighting and replacement lighting. These two categories combine emergency lighting, ambient lighting and hazardous work site lighting.

Should we maintain it?
[…] In order to ensure that the installation operates correctly at all times, it must include a periodic maintenance contract. The operational condition of the emergency lighting should be checked twice a year. An annual check is sufficient for emergency lamps with an operating status indicator.
